A short, honest statement about what this site collects, who sees it, and what we do with it.

Last updated: 2 October 2026

What this site collects

Almost nothing. Dogs Were Dogs™ is a static brand site — the pages are plain HTML served by our host, with no login, no accounts, no cart, and no forms that currently submit anywhere. There are no cookies set by this site today.

The newsletter form on the homepage is not connected to any email provider and does not collect addresses. It says so.

What our host sees

The site is hosted by Netlify. Like every web host, Netlify writes standard access logs: IP address, browser user-agent, URL requested, timestamp. We do not read these logs for individual visitors; they exist to keep the site running and secure.

Netlify's own privacy policy governs how those logs are stored and processed.

Analytics

This site is wired to support Google Analytics 4, but GA is not currently running. If and when it is enabled, this page will be updated first with the specific cookies set, the data processed, and a consent control for EU/UK visitors. Nothing analytics-related happens here until that update lands.

Buying on Etsy

Our tumbler listings are sold on Etsy. When you click "Buy on Etsy" from a product page, you leave this site and finish on Etsy, under Etsy's terms and privacy policy. We don't see your name, address, payment details or order — Etsy does, and ships us the information we need to fulfill the order.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them.

Your rights

Because we don't collect personal information directly, there is almost nothing for us to show you, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold information about you and want to inquire or request deletion, write to us at the address on the Contact page once that mailbox is live.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page changes with it. We will not quietly broaden what we collect without saying so here first.

This is a plain-language first draft, not legal advice. A lawyer-reviewed version will land before any on-site checkout exists. If something here reads unclear in the meantime, that's worth hearing about — see Contact.
